Background
I was born and raised in Minnesota on a hobby farm that grew my love for outdoor activities and animals. I received my Bachelor's degree in Physical Activity, Exercise Science, and Wellness from the University of North Dakota in August 2013. I decided to stay at the University of North Dakota to complete my Master's degree in Kinesiology and Public Health Education, graduating in May of 2015. I moved to Iowa in August of 2015 to pursue my PhD in Kinesiology here at Iowa State University.

Research Interests
My main focus of interest includes reducing or breaking up sedentary time and physical activity promotion strategies. My research here at Iowa State includes motivating individuals to become more active using wearable trackers and monitors as well as motivational interviewing conversational techniques.

Teaching
I enjoy teaching multiple courses in a variety of formats here at ISU (in-person, online, flipped, team based learning) including a Practicum in Motivational Interviewing and Worksite Health Promotion.

Service
My passion for service includes multiple facets to aid in the growth of our field and students. I have the opportunity to advise undergraduate students in honors projects, as well as internships. I serve as the graduate student coordinator for our ExerCyse is Medicine Club.
