Open-Source Accelerometer Research Tools

Our group is active in developing tools for researchers to use when conducting accelerometer research, and when processing accelerometer data. Two recent tools we have developed can be used to perform real-time direct observation, and to process youth accelerometer data in a variety of formats. Both tools were developed in R, which allows them to be freely modified in an open-source manner. We have developed tutorials for both tools, which are available by email upon request, from Greg Welk or Paul Hibbing. The direct observation program was recently released as a package on CRAN, and will be available once CRAN has built it for different platforms. You can view the vignette (including instructions for installation and use) here.
